When COVID-19 hit our region in early Spring, research from Americans for the Arts, Artist Trust, and ArtsFund illustrated the devastating financial impact of the virus on the cultural sector. In June, we implemented a statewide survey partnering with 13 organizations to identify the sector's needs to restart cultural activities.

King County is providing one-time grants as economic support to certain types of organizations in King County experiencing business interruption caused by the required closures of the COVID-19 public health emergency. Applications open immediately, with a deadline in two weeks on Monday, July 27.

This week, Public Health acknowledged that many protesters, particularly Black, Indigenous and People of Color, are choosing to take on the risk of potential exposure to COVID-19 because of the importance of confronting and undoing the systems of racism, oppression and brutality. People are protesting because their lives depend on it.
Museums in Phase 2 counties such as King allowed to reopen if they follow safety guidelines
As part of updated guidance announced Thursday by Gov. Jay Inslee, museums in King and other counties in Phase 2 of the governor's reopening plan will be allowed to reopen as long as they follow safety guidelines to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
